Lots and lots of fire in the chart

Hi Molly ~~

I have no fewer than eight fire signs in my chart yet people always term me as calm, easy-going, and sweet. Why am I not a more “fire-y” person?

~~Shari

To provide some background, the three fire signs are Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. When Shari was born, the Sun, Moon and five other planets were traveling through fire signs.

I’m going to call in an expert here to tell us why you’re not bouncing off the walls. Betty Lundsted, in her book Astrological Insights into Personality, explains:

“People with five or more Fire planets are usually quite shy. The old textbooks say these people should be very fiery and attention seeking— but lots of Fire seems to express in the opposite way. Those with lots of Fire are open and joyous and idealistic with people they know well, but they are rather shy in unfamiliar circumstances and around strangers or people they don’t know.”

Think back to campfires you’ve witnessed in your life. Once you get a really good fire going, the bright sparky flames go out. The real heat comes from the smoldering, red-hot coals. This is what really fiery people are like. Intensely passionate, idealistic, and spiritual.

Fire signs are also very self-aware. Especially Aries and Leo. Self-awareness easily becomes self-consciousness, which is another reason why people with lots of fire in their skies are often extremely shy.

  1. hi Molly

My son has 5 planets in Sag plus a Sag rising! He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was younger and then i started getting into astrology and realised it wasn't ADHD but a true blue fire sign!!
He does bounce of the walls occasionally but can also be quite shy!! He also 'sees' a lot of things happening before they do!

  2. hey louise, are you sure your child is not what is termed as an “indigo child”? The ADHD and the precognitive ESP (‘sees' a lot of things happening before they do)seem to classify him as one. They say all the leaders of the new age are indigos..

  4. Hi Molly & friends
I just love the analogy of the red hot coals for my fire planets. At a medicine wheel ceremony, I was given the name LITTLE SMOKE denoting big fire but creating very little smoke.
p.s. I thought my 3 personal planets in Virgo made me shy but I can now see the self awarenes of 4 fire planets aries/leo. Thanks for the insight.

  5. Hi Molly,

I am new to this site. Wondering how is it like for Librans in the coming months. Is it safe to switch jobs now or should we wait for better time. When is good time for Librans especially in wealth and career.

  7. Hi everyone here...ive been crawling through the web for people with five or more fire sign planets.I personally do have five planets in LEO sign in the natal chart. For those who have been claiming that they are the next generational world leaders in different fields, I feel ive not found many leaders yet while searching on the web with similart traits except than the great Indian mystic and spiritual leader OSHO. He's been known worldwide for his anti tradition tirade against world's major religions.
Personally I did have ADD, ESP and insomnia while I was graduating. It seems thats been attributed to the fire sign majority. rest Im unaware!!!
This is a good informative site.....so keep pouring your comments on these issues...

  8. Hi Molly...
Do you have any account of any famous leader with five fire sign planets...
Ive seen only one person so far...thats been OSHO...(Acharya Rajneesh in his earlier days)... from India...he'd five planets in Sagi sign...he was famous worldwide for his free love concept for salvation...
you can see his natal chart on...http://www.dirah.org/osho.htm.....i wish someone could pour comments on any more famous people worldwide...with similar traits...
    — Gagandeep    9 October 2005    #
  9. Gagandeep,

I know Osho. He is famous here, not only for starting a religious movement, but for moving thousands of his followers into a tiny town in Oregon, violating many laws and displacing many residents.

Osho has many fire planets in his sidereal (Vedic) chart, not his tropical (western) chart. They are two different systems of astrology. In his western chart, there is a large grouping of planets in Capricorn.

I cannot comment on his sidereal chart, as I am not familiar with Vedic astrology. This site deals with tropical (western) astrology. I do not advise using Western methods of interpretation on a Vedic chart. They are two completely different systems of reading charts. You would be better served by information from Vedic astrology websites.

    Best,
    Molly

  11. hi,

I have a concern. I don't have any fire signs in my chart. I have three water, four wind, and three earth signs what does it mean if I don't have any fire signs?

  12. hi i was wondering, how do you know if your an indigo child by your chart wheel.

    thanks

    — pippa    3 March 2006    #
  13. Hi Pippa,

I’m not the one to ask. I’m not into the whole “indigo child” thing. All children have their gifts and I’m not one to put a label on them.

    — Molly    3 March 2006    #
  14. Wow , Molly. I’m very impressed with your site, been reading Saturn in Leo and makes alot of sense. But this is the first time I’ve seen anyone say that alot of fire signs makes you shy. Thank you, it describes me perfectly and I always thought that it was weird that I had 5 planets in Leo and yet shy and spiritual. People would say you don’t seem like a Leo cause I’m not very outgoing and fiery. Very interesting, thanks for finally making me understand why that is.

  15. I have 5 signs in fire and it is very strange about that whole indigo child being able to see things before they happen. Sun and mercury in aries. Jupiter, uranus, and neptune in sagitarius. I am going to lead through music the only way to change the world is rock and roll.

Unknown to any soul the sun will rise one day with out us. Nuclear annihilation, fossil fuels, importation or perhaps a celebration when it all falls down. Where are we in the scope of things f—-ing ants that fight under kings die for a god you cant even see. I believe in what tomorrow brings a revolution in full swing cannot see for the trees. Do what you are told all that money owed are we losing our souls. I see eyes that lie I feel the light inside burning bright every single day.

  16. hey dan, check out a song by faithless called reverence. when he says ‘thou shal have no other god but me’ – its the whole subjectivity – god is your concience vibe. – the human race needs to be free, but free from fear and self hatred of itself X

    — richa    3 January 2007    #
  18. Heya Richa…

There’s a site astro.com where you can put in your birth information and it’ll show you your chart placements. There are other places on the net which you can also get a free chart.

    Here are a few:

    astro.com

  19. I also have 5 fire signs in my chart, my moon and mercury are in Aries and Neptune, Uranus and Saturn are all in Sag, and I’m a sag rising, i was wondering if theres a correlation with so many fire signs and indigo people, I’m not saying I’m psychic or can foretell the future (I’ve had a few dreams that turn out to be deja vus…if that counts) and i am aware of the new age of Aquarius and was wondering what type of people do you see as leading the movement forward and what type of peple do you see as being resistant and clinging to Piscean values

    — Gabe    20 October 2007    #
  20. I was just wondering, Does it mean anything how the lines in your birth chart are set up?

I’ve looked at alot of my friend’s birthcharts and they tend to have most of their placements off to one side or another, yet mine is completely covering the entire wheel.

    just wondering.

  21. Molly,
I can’t believe I’ve lived this long without ever hearing that fire people could be shy. I have 6 planets in Leo in the 10th house, with Sun and Uranus conjunct midheaven, and Scorpio rising. All of my life I have struggled with my shyness. The astrologers that I have had readings with just couldn’t believe or wouldn’t accept that I could be shy, saying it just isn’t indicated anywhere in my chart. Apparently, I should be onstage and outgoing. The bottom line is – Thank you for having some insight into the Fire Dominant personality. WE ARE SHY. (In fact, capitalizing that sentence is the most outgoing thing I have done in a long time) I have also been ADD (without the H).
    Next-
Saturn has finally left the sign of Leo and it has been a tough couple of years for me. I am interested in knowing if you have experience with anyone who has alot of planets in Leo, and what kinds of things they might have noticed or experienced with Saturn transiting thru Leo. Is there relief ahead?
    peace

    — mary w    11 December 2007    #
  22. Hi Mary— I know! It isn’t that the fire isn’t there, it just isn’t the “sparky” kind that tends to get all the press. But the fire dominance does show up in a spiritual and idealistic personality, and very sensitive ego.

Saturn has left Leo, but Neptune is still in Aquarius, opposing Leo and giving Leo natives all kinds of those lovely “learning experiences.” Read up on Neptune transits and I think you’ll have all kinds of insights into what has been going on.

    — Molly    11 December 2007    #
  23. Hi Molly, congrats for your great website and all these valuable informations.

This is something new to me too, i have 5 planets in sag and the rising sign also.

And i wondered why having all this fire i was very shy, especially at childhood. I was blaming the 12th house, where i have moon, saturn, venus and mercury(Sco) conjunct.

    — Ramon    26 March 2008    #
  24. Thanks Molly,
That’s so interesting. I have 6 fire signs, sun/moon/mercury in Leo, Sag rising and Jupiter and Neptune in Sag. and I’ve had to work so hard to overcome shyness. People always say, “you’re a Leo? You don’t act like a Leo!”

    — SanDeE    14 April 2008    #
  25. Yeah, I know. It wasn’t until I read Lundsted that I really understood why I wasn’t more “typically” Aries. I have Sun in Aries and Moon in Leo. And I’m self-conscious as all get-out.

Although I find that most Aries are not textbook Aries. Most of the books make us out to be a bunch of Yosemite Sams.
