Molly's Astrology for June 2009
The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction (described in May) continues through June and early July. Jupiter will change direction, from direct to retrograde, on June 15. This will shift the expansive spiritual energy and sensitivity of this contact to a more inward, introspective level, as each of us integrates this new idea or direction.
Chiron, the “Wounded Healer, is part of this conjunction as well. We benefit from time spent in nature, and time spent helping others. If past hurts and wounds come up, you can transcend and heal the pain by giving to others what you missed out on. Heal your life; break the cycle.
The “Detox” Stellium
I have come to realize that this conjunction of Chiron and Neptune has another side to it. Neptune governs poisoning and toxicity of all kinds. Physical, emotional, spiritual. Chiron is a healer. So this is detox time. And detox can be a painful process. Chiron represents pain that we have to go through to come to better health and wholeness.
Mars is in Taurus this month, a sign of persistence and determination on the plus side, and bullheaded stubbornness on the minus side. Matters you initiate this month may be slow to get going, but once they do, they have staying power. Folks are driven to fight or to act by the urge to acquire possessions and establish material security. Use patience and diplomacy with others who may be inclined to “dig in their heels.” If you were born with Mars in Taurus, now through mid-July is a time of important new beginnings. If Mars is in Scorpio in your natal chart, this is a time of low energy, so you need to take care not to take on too much stress, as you are more vulnerable to illness and exhaustion.
June 6-7
The best news we have had in several months— Venus enters stable, sensual Taurus on Saturday June 6, after spending an unusually long time in feisty, competitive Aries. Venus is much happier in Taurus than in Aries, making this month great for socializing, gathering, and working to enjoy the best of what life has to offer.
The Full Moon on Sunday afternoon is a tough one— it squares Saturn. The Sagittarius Moon brings out our freedom urges, but the Saturn square reins them in. There is work to do to create the freedom you want. Full Moons bring awareness, and this one tests your level of commitment to your goal. Without a doubt, some folks will become frustrated and react. Full Moons are a time when our emotional buckets tend to overflow. So it is important to take a few moments to find and connect to your center— especially for mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces.
June 8-12
Monday, two financial planets join in harmony—- sweet Venus trines powerful Pluto, signalling a great day for important purchases and decisions. But stick to routine between 9:51 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. eastern time, the Moon void of course period. Decisions and actions taken while the Moon is v/c are more subject to unexpected turns and consequences. It’s not always bad, it just isn’t what you expect.
Tuesday and Wednesday, Mercury will square the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune “detox” stellium. It takes some extra effort to keep communications on track. Missing information, fuzzy thinking, absences due to illness can all delay or set back your progress. On the plus side, this is a repeat of an aspect that appeared around May 20, when Mercury was retrograde. So you may re-encounter a situation that perplexed you then, and work on it some more, maybe even get it sorted out for good. Wednesday afternoon gives you a little window of opportunity, a clear time to submit your paperwork, or make important calls and purchases.
Thursday and Friday, the Moon moves into Aquarius, where she will square Venus and Mars, then connect with the powerful Aquarius “detox” stellium. So things can be a little rocky, particularly on Thursday and Saturday— when the Lunar transits are exact. It’s not anything to freak out about. But good to be aware of, as the Moon can be a trigger for events and reactions.
June 13-21
Saturday morning, the Moon whips through the Aquarius “detox” stellium once again. Try not to tackle anything too complicated. Saturday evening looks great for whatever you have on the agenda. The Moon will be in Pisces, making us all more sensitive to medicines, chemicals, booze. Easy to drink too much. If this sounds like you, make sure you have a sober driver to bring your drunk ass home safely!
Hope you enjoy your Flag Day celebrations, especially my friends who get a 3-day weekend out of it. Molly’s Astrology heartily endorses 3-day weekends. It looks like a good Flag Day, not too much to get in the way of a good time or a working weekend.
Monday through Wednesday, the Sun lines up in harmony with the “detox” stellium. This is a time when you can access the power of it with less challenge and friction. A very good day to address and take action to clear away toxic substances, people, situations, and attitudes.
June 18-30
Thursday and Friday, something different appears. Venus and Mars in earth sign Taurus are moving into a trine with Saturn in earth sign Virgo. Earth signs like other earth signs. They speak the same language. A trine between planets removes friction, making things easier. We have love and money (Venus) and action (Mars) trine stability (Saturn). This greases the wheels for successful and effective actions and decisions, especially between Thursday the 18th and Tuesday the 23rd. Load your calendar.
And a happy Summer Solstice to you!
Later in the week, June 25-27, a more serious note as Mercury squares pessimistic, practical Saturn, planet of limitations. Think about the practical aspects of what you want to accomplish. What will you have to give up to get what you want? But don’t let negative thinking have you so worried that you can’t see the possibilities that really are open to you. Sometimes folks make it more complicated than it really is.
June 28-30, two major hits to the detox stellium are coming in early July, and we may start to feel them now. One is a kiss from Mercury, planet of ideas and ruler of the hands, lungs, and nervous system. The other is a quack from Venus, planet of love, money, and pleasure, and ruler of the skin, kidneys, and blood sugar. Looks pretty peaceful as we close out June, but there are some interesting days just ahead in early July.
Mark your calendar!
Best days for your top priority plans are June 2, 3, 8, 11-12, 16, 19-22.
Take it easy on June 5, 9-10, 15, 23, 25.

I can feel the effects of the detox stellium and have for a couple of weeks. I’m actually enjoying this time because I am ridding myself of old behaviours that aren’t working for me which had put me in difficult situations in the past. That’s really how I’m viewing all this, leaving the uncomfortable, messy stuff “in the past”. It feels like I have no choice.

Molly,
would the detoxing also apply to false and erroneous assumptions, stuff you believed to be true and acted accordingly, only to find you were wrong? Because that has been a theme in my life for the past couple of weeks.
Just asking because I understand Neptune also rules delusion – does that mean he can get you out of delusion under the right circumstances?
3 · Molly · 7 June 2009
Hi Stephen – definitely yes. Especially since Neptune is in mutual reception with Uranus, there are wake-up calls for those who are willing to see them and brave enough to admit they were wrong. Good on you!

For the week of June 8-12, you say its nothing to freak out about. My neighbor must have freaked out. He killed himself and apparently was drunk at the time. That happend at 12:35 a.m. on Friday the 12th. I heard he had a drug problem and had tried to quit, but it looked like he couldn’t.
6 · Molly · 17 June 2009
I’m sorry about your neighbor, Catorce. Sounds like something more serious was going on with his birth chart. People do freak out, even when there are no particularly nasty aspects in the sky.

Hey Molly
Love your site!
A lot of people on your site seem to know what the present planetary situation is doing with respects to their birth chart. I do not know of any other way of finding that out for myself out than to invest in astrological software. I was wondering if you might recommend some software that I might investigate ? Do you favor any ? So far I’ve looked at Time Passages. If anyone else would care to add their two cents I’d appreciate it!
