Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign. Cardinal signs are the most ambitious and motivated. Earth signs are the most practical. The duty of Capricorn people is to build something permanent for the future.
Saturn, planet of responsibility, career, ambition and inhibition, is the ruler of Capricorn. He does not sound glamorous, and he really isn’t (although other planets in other signs in the chart can make a Capricorn very glamorous), but where you have Capricorn in your chart, you have the ability to build things that last. Saturn is the planet of age, maturity, and time; and Capricorns also tend to wear their maturity well, and get better with age.
Being an earth sign, Capricorn has a good head for business and can do very well in the business world. They also have a staying power that earns them trust and respect, and a talent for delegating tasks in a managerial position.
Wherever you have Capricorn in your chart, you have a need to be responsible and serious. You have the potential to work hard, learn from your past mistakes, and get better over time. The other potential is for you to isolate yourself, possibly using your loneliness as a shield to avoid closeness with other people. Many Capricorns are really hard on themselves, often holding themselves up to an outside standard of success.
The challenge for Capricorn is to remember to honor and nurture others on the way up. As they climb the ladder of success, remember who is at the bottom holding it up! Interpersonal relationships can be difficult, since Capricorn can use work and achievement in the outside world to avoid the emotional responsibility required in close relationships.

I am earth, but I am more like water. Why arent I water if this stuff is true?
what i just read is very much me. my problem is i have a bad temper quick and fall in love easy. does that sound right to you?
Hi! I am a Virgo and been in a relationship with a Capricorn for almost 2 years now. I still cannot understand him, he confessed he loved me after 6 months but never show what he means. I have been putting all the efforts to make it go. There were times I felt like letting it go coz I was emotionally drained and tired! And everytime, he would beg and plead that I stay. And I did coz I feel so deep for him! Yes, he’s careful about money and at times, miserly! He’s a taker, I’m the giver – in every aspect. I do criticized him for I am a good analyser – he took it so hard and isolated himself from me for weeks…then I had to say sorry, then he lighten up again. This cycle is driving me nuts. He’s quite type – all he wanted to do is to gaze at my eyes, without blinking as if he was sucking all the retinas i have on my both big deep-set eyes… and said ‘you are beautiful’..is that all, you may wonder!!! I guess he’s just in love with my eyes!
Antoinette : I guess you do have that true cappy traits – bad temper quick – but sure to do well hiding it. Do you fall in and out of love easy too?
Antoinette, there is much more going on in your birth chart that colors the picture. The Sun sign is just a starting point.
Cherry, your boyfriend sounds like buckets of pain, and you keep signing up. I guess you’ll stop when you’ve had enough.

I met this capricorn guy earlier this year at a work sales conference. We connected immediately. Sadly he lives on the other side of the world. We have maintained contact via email since the first day we met, and when i (Aquarius) met him, i was immediately captivated.
Beyond the fact that he lives so far away from me, the other major issue is we are both currently in relationships. He told me he loved me about a month ago and then said that he needs to withdrawal and put our relationship back into friendship.
I married 3 years ago and part of me believes i married out of fear of being alone. My husband is a beautiful, kind, Libra, but i have always felt that our relationship lacks passion.
My question is, based on our Natal Charts (mine & Capricorn), even if we did get together, could we live harmoniously. I truely feel like we belong together, but is that just my Idealistic way? Do i need to forget about him and be responsible, focussing on my marriage? I think i know the answer, but ….
Sherri,
I can’t do much with the astrological info you gave me. Sun Moon and rising only gives me surface look at the chart. Based on the surface, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of compatibility. I think your #2 answer is probably something you should think about. It sounds very idealistic and unlikely to happen with this guy. And I think you need to reconsider your marriage. You’re clearly feeling stuck, and it sounds like this Capricorn guy is someone your psyche picked as a way to move you out of this stuck place. But it’s the stuckness, not him, that I think you probably need to focus on. Are you committed to your marriage, or aren’t you? Your husband deserves your honesty, and you deserve passion and love in your life. And things are unlikely to shift if you don’t fess up. You’re not doing anyone any favors here. Strap on your tits and get to work, darlin.
Hello Molly, Ive (libra Oct 5 1979) been involved with this (capricorn Jan 12 1973) for a year. We kinda had love at first site back last June 05, and we had alot in common spiritually, mentally, sexually and physically. Two months into our relationship, I started to see that he had money issues and that he was trying to get back into the music industry as a producer. I was modeling and acting alittle in NYC but my career was taking a while to spark. I started to listen to others and broke off our relationship but still wanted him…From Aug 05 till April 06 he constantly kept in contact telling me that he was gonna marry me and we were gonna move to a stable relationship, moved to LA and wanted me to come with him to boost my career…still listening to others who I had repsect for, I was nasty to him thinking he would get out of my life permanently but to no avail he persisted. I figured why does he still want me, and I was so mean and dry to him? I finally listened to my gut and heart and accepted his courtship. We are to reunite this weekend and Im excited…do you see a strong secure outcome between me and this capi…
hey a lot of that stuff on strengths and weaknesses is true about me, only a few didnt match….where did u learn this stuff?
I have to smile when I read the messages here. I’m a Cap Sun, Aqua Moon, but so many of my true Cap characteristics didn’t appear until I was in my late 20s. My dh (Cap Sun, Gem Moon) didn’t start really showing those characteristics until the same age. Remember, Cap is a late bloomer and all those other planets in their charts sometimes overwhelm the Sun when a Cap is young. As we mature and settle, our true characters come through. Hang in there, ladies. Probably worth waiting for.
Just wanted to say hello. Happy New Years too. I am a Capricorn and the signs are so there! Wanted to say ‘thanks’ because I read the corresponding “TAGS” and they really struck me tonite! My new business logo is nearly complete and my business name is Cardinal Selling Services … and the logo will be a cardinal bird on the globe (earth sign) and my company vehicle is a SATURN Vue! Anything else you can give me on tags? Thanks again … Capricorn CLIMBING HIGH. Vicki (also … fell in and out of love with a Taurus … and want to stay away from them. Virgo’s are giving .. and both are good matches … any advice on dating?)
Hi just curious about my Pisces north node in the 2nd house of finances which is where the worlds north node is right now. Good things coming?

Feb 7, 1951 Dallas, Tx noon I still love Jimmy who was born on this date. Will we finally get back together?
Cheryl,
I do think a Node return can be good, but it really depends on what else is going on. Even if I did read your chart, I couldn’t tell you if you and this man are going to get back together.
Does being a psycopath make horoscope null and void for that person?
Or further – what part does grave mental illness play in the horoscope of tht person…being they are not normal.
?
hehhee..NORMAL? Who IS normal? ;)
But seriously…there is freewill involved. And genetics. If a person is a “true psychopath” this is just one manifestation of an energy. Astrology doesn’t necessarily dictate exact patterns of behavior. It describes tendencies. Perhaps astrology could make someone more prone to certain things but not necessarily.
One aspects might (by choice) allow someone to choose to be very creative. Someone else might choose to go down a road where they are off balance or very unstable emotionally.
Furthermore, nothing (including astrology) can completely describe the human condition. There are things we don’t fully understand and there are many factors to be considered. I think, for instance, if someone has Down’s Syndrome, that doesn’t mean they don’t display characterstics of a Scorpio or a person with a stellium in the 9th house or whatever other traits their horoscope shows. In fact, they could be a sterling example. The same thing could be true for a ‘psychopath’. If someone goes on a murdering rampage, they could still be displaying aspects of their horoscope, just not in a very “nice” way.
:D
I hope this makes sense…
Melanie,
I don’t have any first-hand experience with psychopaths, nor do I have any kind of training in psychology. But I do not think being a psychopath would invalidate the person’s chart.
Case in point is the guy who shot all those people at Virginia Tech. Lynn Hayes posted an analysis of his chart. We can sometimes see a predisposition to mental illness, but not all who are mentally ill are also psychopaths.
I don’t think there is any way of knowing from the chart alone whether someone will be a psychopath. But we do read charts in light of people’s actions and attitudes. Because astrology is only one of the factors that shapes who a person becomes.
I asked your question on Node-o-rama and it sparked an interesting discussion.
hi, molly ,
i have moon in cancer opposite saturn, neptune, uranus in cap and venus opp my ascendent pisces do all these opp means hardship in life? I Read about them and kind off suggest that , What do you think? , 10x interesting site . emmaEmma, I don’t read oppositions as hardship in life. But they do indicate areas where you have to work to stay in balance and honor both sides of the opposition. Difficulty appears when you try to do one side at the expense of the other.
