Venus: the love goddess
Posted under Planets![]()
This is they glyph for Venus: the universal symbol for female.
Early astrologers noticed that Venus also travels with the Sun, although not in the same way as Mercury. Mercury seems to zip to and fro, while Venus takes her time. She goes farther away from the Sun and then gradually slows down every 18 months, then moves slowly back to meet him again, like a lover.
Venus is the goddess of love. Her placement in your chart will show how you demonstrate your affection to others, also what kind of love you want and need.
Venus describes our:
Love
Aesthetic tastes
Need for beauty and harmony, pleasure and comfort
Social interaction, Hanging Out
Art, Music
Money and Possessions
She represents Women and Social Groups
She rules the Neck and Shoulders.
Because Venus and Mercury are inside the Earth’s orbit, from our perspective they can never be too far away from the Sun. Mercury is never more than one sign away from the Sun, and Venus is never farther than two signs away.

Some years ago I dreamt I was on the edge of a forest lightly covered in snow as if first of the season. There was a wide bower and on one side a gorgeous white marble goddess looking like the statue of liberty ie freedom vibes very strong. Jupiter was about to enter gemini in my first house. Wide expansion. I’m clueless. What do you think of these kind of dreams. Do you think this dream can be acted upon if and when I “get it” or do you think they are momentary and “you missed the boat” type of event.
Something to obsess over. Wonder forever. Thanks.

I don't know what your dream means, Charlly, only you truly know, but it certainly sounds wonderful. You could try posting it on dreamjournal.net or at the dreams forum at Node-o-rama.

Thanks, that sounds interesting. I’ll try it.

Hi there Molly,
Is part of experiencing a Saturn transit, “delayed gratification?”
Like the gifts and lessons come after it leaves a transit to a personal planet.
I feel like you just have to submit to it & then see what good things come after it goes away:)
Thanks for your thoughtful responses – its always so interesting to see what you write:)!

Hi Molly,
I have natal Venus in Aries and Mars in Taurus. Is that good or bad, because I know Aries rules Mars and Taurus rules Venus…
13 · Molly · 30 June 2008
That’s called “mututal reception,” J, and it’s good. Try googling that term for more info.

That kind of sounds like me, but my need for beauty and my social interactions are off. I do not rely on them as much, at least I do not think I do. I am a Taurus, and I love my sign. What you are saying, however, I just don’t understand. Sorry.

Well I’m glad that isn’t making sense, because you have misunderstood my article. I was not describing a person… This article is part of a basic chart reading tutorial. It’s about what Venus represents in the birth chart.
