Maya update

Things are happening really quickly for my friend Maya (who plays a mean game of Jenga and is also quite a photographer). Things didn’t go as planned when she was hospitalized a few weeks ago, and she ended up not having the surgery to remove the part of her brain that was producing epileptic seizures.
However, she and her doctors have decided to move forward with the surgery, and they scheduled it for the next available time, March 15.
But yesterday, Maya got a call.. there was a cancellation for THIS FRIDAY! So she took it. Tomorrow she’s checking back into the hospital to have a 3 cm piece of injured tissue in her left frontal lobe and hippocampus removed.
We are so excited for her and wish her all the best, a speedy recovery, and a total healing.

Hi Molly,
I am sending prayers and will burn sacred herb ( native wormwood of California that is sacred to the Miwok Native Americans who are the indigenous people of this part of California) for Maya and her surgery tomorrow. Please forward this for Maya:
Maya, I live about an hour away from Pinecrest, California were you spent part of the summer of 1996. Wow, its a tiny world that we are all part of! Please, when you come to visit California again, I would love to meet you and we can visit at Pinecrest. (Molly, I'd love to visit with you too.) Did you visit Cleo's Bath (a spectacular mini waterfall and cascades in the spring runoff and a cool place to swim and tan in the early summer) just above the Lake? I love the Sierra Nevada Mountains and they are such a sacred and special place to meditate and tune into Spirit.

Maya's mom called this evening to say that Maya's surgery went well. The doctor was pleased with the results. Maya will be in ICU for the night, and will be moved to a regular hospital room tomorrow, where she will stay at least until Sunday.

Maya's home now, and she continues to get better. She has been very tired, sleeping a lot. Her doctors say this is quite normal, and she can expect to have her energy back in 4-6 weeks.

I’m so touched by the support expressed here on this page! Thank you. My recovery is going well, and my brain seems to be in a steady process of healing. No seizures so far. I sure appreciate the unconditional support and encouragement I’ve gotten from other people. Blessings to Molly for being such an awesome friend!
